It all started with...
An Endless Passion for Music
Born & raised in california -established in 2013 - oahu, hawaii to dallas, Texas (military family)
Hey it’s Ryen! The owner of Hype 4 Entertainment aka “the one with the fro”. When I first started my business at age 17 I had just graduated from Timberview High School in 2013 in Arlington, TX. My family, who has served in the military, was stationed in Hawaii right after I graduated, which is where Hype 4 Ent was created.
Believe it or not, I had no intention of being a DJ and like most high school graduates I didn’t know what I wanted to study either. I did know that I wanted to work for myself at all cost.
Long story short I ended up shadowing two marines that were DJ’s on the side and their focus was on weddings and Military Balls. I did this for 9 months prior to starting my own business. This helped me create my own formula, to be consistent, and keep people happy! Most businesses out the gate have bad reviews and mishaps which is normal but I can proudly say since 2013 we haven’t let anyone down! I’ll retire if I do because your experience is that important to me!
Thankfully, I quickly found a passion and already had a love for music so it became a no brainer for me to chase this dream. I’m a true entrepreneur. I’ve built my business from the ground up and have overcome all types of obstacles. I even created this website so don’t be surprised if you find typos LOL.
I’ve always enjoyed collecting vinyl/cd’s and have followed many popular artists before their fame. I used to go check out new music every day and tell my friends about the artist and which ones I thought would be successful, which many of those artists ended up famous. I didn’t realize it at the time growing up but I’ve always had an ear for good music!
A year in to learning the business I still had no intent to work as a DJ full time since I was focusing on having a “real career”. After exploring through college, I obtained a couple of certificates, which I never used because that’s how college works, we moved around some more and I decided to drop out to pursue the wedding industry full time.
I told myself I would continue to work my regular job and give myself two years to transition into becoming a full time DJ, which I did in nine months by the blessing of God.
I was finally able to quit my job. This was a life changing moment!
If you’re still reading this I want to say thank you for spending the time because I put my heart and soul into my business and the people who work along beside me. To be clear I’m talking about the team and our couples.
Speaking of the team I want to let you know we are very personable with our own styles. We aren’t just some jokers trying to sell you services for money.
Everyone that works at Hype4 or that is partnered with us is up to a professional standard…but I must admit we may crack jokes from time to time. Not on the mic of course!
You may think that you’re hiring us but we’re picky about who we work for too. I say this with love because I don’t like to settle and feel like I’m working for just anyone who can’t appreciate our hard work.
We also need you to know we’re just as invested in your special day as you are…maybe we haven’t dreamed about it like you have for years but we’ve dreamed about making everyone’s dream wedding come true.
That’s something you can’t put a price on.
We are a smaller team which allows us to focus on our couples and stay organized. Everyone on the team has a purpose, we don’t just want a thousand people on our team so we can attend to a thousand weddings while being “just okay” performers. We BELIEVE in quality over quantity! We only want to be GREAT…for YOU!
We also have partnerships with other industry professionals for all services that we provide so we always have a back-up or a recommended vendor for your big day.
However, we have never had to use any of our back-up’s. When you hire us you receive a high level of commitment that you won’t always get from other companies.
We cannot mention names (the tea is hot) but there are companies that have 100’s of DJ’s and other vendors – many of which have little to no training. These “one size fits all” companies assign a DJ to you last minute so you never know who is working for you on one of the biggest days of your life.
If you ask me, that’s just crazy. These businesses usually attract people by price and people don’t realize the subcontracted vendors are usually highly underpaid, which effects their performance.
I can keep going but my point is we don’t have to do all of that because we’re real entertainers that know how to run a business. We have some really cool artists and high grade and state-of-the-art equipment too!
We’re upfront and honest. We’re locally owned and here to serve everyone with a true passion and love. We provide DJ, Photography and Photo Booth services inside and outside of Dallas – Fort Worth. Yes, we travel and have been to Houston and Cancun to work weddings!! We hope to get more international events.
